Celebrating 150 years of the Bengal’s public theatre remains incomplete without an ode to the man who gave Bengali theatre its golden era, Girish Chandra Ghosh. Howrah Panchak will stage the audio drama, Theatrewala, on February 15 at Sisir Mancha at 5.30pm.  The audio drama written by playwright Ujjwal Chattopadhyay, will be staged as a grand tribute to the great theatre personality from Bengal at Sisir Mancha. The audio drama will be staged by Howrah Panchak on February 15 from 5.30pm. Not a chronological biography of Girish Ghosh, but Theatrewala attempts to highlight some of the most important events of Girish Ghosh’s life and times. His association and relationship with Binodini, Ramakrishna Paramhansadev, Amritalal and others. The play is an attempt to show the upsurge of Bengal’s stage and the renaissance that started in the hands of Girish Ghosh.
